Most bulk-material suppliers make you call or fill out a form to find out what anything costs — or they post a photo of a price list that Google can’t read and that’s six months out of date. We do it the other way: every price is posted, in plain text, by the cubic yard, and you can build a full order online and see your delivered total before you pay. Here’s the snapshot, plus the one thing worth understanding before you compare us to anyone else.

Prices are for material picked up at the yard or delivered; dump-truck delivery is a flat rate by distance added on top (about $65 close in, more the farther out you are). Check your address on the delivery rate lookup, or just start an order and the total fills in as you go.
Cubic yards vs. tons — read this before you price-shop
Here’s the trick to watch for. We sell by the cubic yard — a measure of volume, which is what you actually spread on the ground. Some suppliers price by the ton — a measure of weight. A per-ton number looks smaller on the sticker, but you can’t compare it to a per-yard price until you convert it, because every material weighs something different:

So stone runs about 1.35 tons per yard. A yard that advertises “$45 a ton” is really charging about $61 a yard — right in line with our posted $59–$63 washed river rock, but you’d never know it from the ad. When you compare quotes, get everything onto the same unit (per cubic yard) first, and make sure delivery is included the way ours is.

How much does mulch cost in the northwest suburbs?
Bulk hardwood mulch starts at $32/cu yd, premium hardwood is $40, and dyed mulch (black, brown, red) runs $37.50–$40. Cedar and southern bark are $60–$65.50. Every material’s price is posted by the cubic yard on our products page; dump-truck delivery is a flat rate by distance on top.
Why do you price by the cubic yard instead of by the ton?
A cubic yard is the volume you actually spread; a ton is weight, which changes with the material and how wet it is. Per-ton pricing can look cheaper on the sticker, but you can’t compare it to a per-yard price without knowing the weight per yard. Stone runs about 1.35 tons per yard — so a supplier’s $45/ton stone is really about $61/yard. We post everything per yard so what you see is what you spread.
