Behrens Landscaping, Inc. (“Behrens,” “we,” “our”) operates this website at behrenslandscape.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Information you give us directly

• Delivery quotes. When you use the rate calculator on our delivery page, you type a street address. We send that address to Google Maps to calculate driving distance and keep a record of the lookup (address, distance, and quoted rate) to help us understand demand in our service area. That record stays in our own systems — the address is not sent to our analytics or session-replay tools, which receive only an approximate distance range and the quoted rate. After seeing your quote, you may optionally provide your name and phone number if you'd like us to follow up with a materials estimate. If you don’t fill in the contact form, no name or phone is stored.
• Online orders. When you place or attempt to place an online order, we collect the name, phone number, email address, delivery address, and order details you submit. If a card payment is declined, no order is placed, but we keep an internal record of the submitted name, phone number, email address, amount, and processor result so our staff can identify the attempt, help if you contact us, and investigate payment problems or misuse.
• Phone calls and email. When you call (847) 358-4010 or email Mike@behrenslandscape.com, we keep notes about your order, delivery address, and payment so we can fulfill it. We don’t share that information with anyone outside our staff and (if you pay by card) our payment processor.
• Order placement. If we take an order over the phone, we record your name, the property address, contact phone, and what you bought. This is the minimum needed to deliver and invoice the order.
• Card payments. Card payments are processed by Clover (a Fiserv company). At our yard or office, the card is read by our Clover terminal; online, card details are entered into Clover-hosted payment fields. Our application receives the amount, approval or decline result, payment reference, and limited card details such as brand and last four digits. We do not store your full card number, expiration date, security code, billing ZIP, payment token, or billing address in our customer or decline records.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site — which pages get visited, how long people stay, where they click. Google Analytics anonymizes IP addresses; Clarity records anonymized session replays for usability improvement. Addresses you type into the delivery rate calculator are excluded from the analytics events and masked out of session replays, so neither tool receives them. Neither tool identifies you personally to us.
• Advertising. We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether visitors who came from a Google search or ad ended up calling us, asking for a delivery quote, or placing a paid online order. A phone-tap conversion records only that the tap happened. When you submit the delivery-quote contact form or pay for an online order, the conversion also carries the order total and a hashed (scrambled, one-way) version of the email address or phone number you entered, so Google can match the conversion to an ad click; Google does not receive the readable values, and we do not send anything you did not type into that form. We also use Google Analytics’ advertising features (“Google signals”) for remarketing: if you check a delivery rate on this site and do not order, Google may show you a Behrens ad on other sites or apps for up to 30 days. This works only for people who are signed in to a Google account with ads personalization turned on, and Google — not us — holds the information that makes the match. You can turn it off for your account at adssettings.google.com.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard request logs — IP, user agent, page accessed, timestamp — for security and performance purposes. Logs are retained per Cloudflare’s policy and are not shared with third parties.

Cookies and similar technologies

• Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. You can opt out by enabling Do Not Track or installing a browser blocker; the site works the same with or without them.

How we use information

• To answer your questions and quote, schedule, and deliver orders.
• To process payments (card transactions are handled by Clover, our payment processor; we don’t store full card numbers).
• To improve the website — what pages need clearer copy, which products people search for.
• To run targeted advertising on Google so people in our service area can find us.

Who we share with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share only what’s necessary, and only with:

• Service providers who help us run the business: our payment processor (Clover, a Fiserv company), our hosting provider (Cloudflare), and our email/calendar tools. They’re bound to use the information only to provide their service.
• Analytics and advertising platforms (Google, Microsoft) under their own privacy policies, listed below.
• Government or legal requests if required by law.

Your choices

• Opt out of analytics by enabling your browser’s Do Not Track setting or installing a privacy extension.
• Opt out of personalized ads (including our remarketing) at adssettings.google.com, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Request your data or deletion. If you’ve placed an order with us and want to know what we have on file, or want it deleted, email Mike@behrenslandscape.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may keep limited records (invoices, tax documents) longer where the law requires.
• California, Colorado, and other state privacy laws may give you specific rights to access, delete, or opt out of the sale of personal information. We don’t sell personal information. To exercise other rights, contact us at the email above.

Children

The website is intended for adults purchasing landscape materials. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

The site runs on Cloudflare and uses HTTPS for every page. Card payments are handled by Clover (a Fiserv company) — cards are read on the Clover terminal at our yard, and full card numbers never reach our website or our systems. Order records are kept on a private database accessible only to authorized staff.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if our practices change. The “last updated” date at the top tells you when — check back here for the current version.
