Often used in drainage projects, dog runs, and decorative purposes. "Washed" means it's been rinsed clean of fines and dust — water flows through freely instead of getting clogged up the way a dirty/crusher-run stone would.
Rounded shape from river-gravel sources means high void space between stones, which is exactly what you want for drainage. Also good-looking enough to use as a decorative top layer on exposed drains or dry creek beds.
