Details
Coarse, sharp-edged silica sand — sometimes called "concrete sand" or "FA-2." The angular grains lock together when leveled, which is exactly what you want as a setting bed under pavers, retaining walls, and flagstone. Water also drains freely through the angular pack so installations don't pool water.
Mixed at low ratios into heavy clay garden beds, it improves drainage noticeably.
